As part of the Amira TIA, the intersection of Amira Drive at Mueschke Road was warranted for a traffic signal. Amira Drive is the main entrance to the development. The traffic signal was designed and constructed per the standards and specifications established by Harris County Engineering, and the signal construction was inspected by Harris County Precinct 3. Median reconstruction was required to improve pedestrian access. Costello staff designed the traffic signal to use both detector loops and radar. The signalization of the intersection required a reconfiguration of the striping along Mueschke Road. The traffic signal was constructed to ensure that future roadway expansion to the west will not require further signal adjustments.
