Airport Avenue Reconstruction Phase 1 & 2

Costello provided complete design, construction phase, and surveying services for the 1.4-mile reconstruction of Airport Avenue from FM 2218 to Louise. The project included both paving and utilities, reconstructing the roadway from a 2-lane, asphalt street with open ditch drainage to 3-lane concrete roadway with storm sewer drainage system. The Phase I portion of the project extended through an area that includes Lamar Consolidated ISD facilities along the North ROW and commercial businesses and a church / school along the South ROW. The overall project included replacement and expansion of paving and replacement of drainage, public utilities, and sidewalk extensions. Phase II included widening of the bridge at Dry Creek to provide pedestrian access throughout the project.
